Since exploding onto the market a few years back, massage guns have quickly become the go-to recovery device for most people. Unfortunately, because of the shear number of different models available, it can be a bit difficult choosing one that’s worth your hard earned money. Because trust us, there are plenty of massage guns that are, well, complete garbage.
It just so happens, that we have tried over a hundred different massage guns and we’ve narrowed down the best you can buy in Canada.
To be nominated “the best massage gun”, we consider the following: build quality, battery life, effectiveness, and overall value.
So without further discussion, these are our top massage gun picks.
Ekrin Athletics B37S
The lineup of massage guns from Ekrin Athletics are some of the best you can buy. Don’t take our word for it. Wirecutter, GGR, and CNET all say the same thing.
We’ve been using the B37 massage gun from Ekrin Athletics since 2019 and it still just works.
You can’t go wrong with any of their models, but the Ekrin B37S is the cream of the crop. It’s equipped with an ultra high-performing motor that can make quick work of pesky muscle knots.
The battery life is class leading with up to 8 hours of use. Granted that’s assuming you use it on the lowest setting, but even on high, we’ve been able to squeeze out at least 4-5 hours. Plenty of juice to last a week or so without charging.
All in all, the Ekrin B37S ticks all the right boxes that you’d expect from a premium massage gun. It’s the total package and we think you’ll approve.

Used and endorsed by professional athletes, the all-new Playmakar MVP+ is a powerhouse. If you’re looking for a deep tissue massage gun in Canada that really digs in, this is it.
The MVP’s 6 speed brushless motor outputs an astonishing 58 lbs of stall force pressure. That’s quite a bit more than brands that cost twice as much. In other words, this thing can pummel your muscles with ease.
Even though the motor is powerful, surprisingly, it’s very quiet. With a maximum noise level of 48dB, you can handily carry on a conversation without shouting.
The Playmakar also comes with 4 innovative new massage heads that offer a premium massage experience. And for a limited time, a free HeatTip is included with each purchase. Trust us, a heated tip feels amazing on sore, tired muscles.
If you’re unsure if the Playmakar MVP+ will hold up long-term, you will happy to know that it comes with a 2-year warranty.
RENPHO Massage Gun
Rated 4.6/5 stars by over 3000 individuals on Amazon, the RENPHO is the perfect choice if you’re looking to save a little bit of money.
We found the RENPHO offered an acceptable amount of power and performance that should satisfy most people’s needs. It’s not as high-end as the two previous massage guns, but don’t let that steer you clear completely.
The RENPHO has a ridiculous 20 speed motor inside. To be truthful, that’s a bit of overkill since the power increase is so incremental between each speed. They could have reduced that number to 6 and we think that would be sufficient.
The only other limiting factor of this particular massage gun is the 10mm massage head amplitude. The smaller the amplitude, the less percussion you will feel. Again, for majority of people, it’s enough to merit great reviews.
Otherwise, this particular massage gun is made well, comes with 6 attachments, a carrying case, and a standard 1-year warranty.
Bob and Brad Massage Gun
Looking to buy a massage gun from a company that is founded by actual Physical Therapists? Then look no further than the Bob and Brad C2.
The C2 is what you get when you combine an ultra powerful motor, a slick ergonomic design, and unbeatable battery life. In other words, the C2 massage gun is the total package.
We’ve long considered the C2 to be one of the best massage guns you can buy. If you want a massage gun that’s really going to loosen up those stiff muscles, this is a strong contender.
We’re not kidding. The Bob and Brad is overall relatively quiet with a variable 5 speed motor. The internal lithium ion battery will keep going for hours, so there’s no need to worry about it dying on you prematurely.
The C2 also comes with a carrying case and 5 very effective massage heads. Everything you need to get the best massage of your life is all included.
The Medcursor massage gun is technically considered a “mini” massage gun. Don’t let the size fool you though, it actually offers power that’s nearly on par with the full-size models.
We think you’ll be equally impressed with the Medcursor for not only it’s small size, but also for its impeccable build quality. The upper exterior shell is made of a perforated aluminum shell that makes it look much more expensive than it really is.
Also, thanks to its small size, the Medcursor is much more portable than the other massage guns on this list. Why does that matter? Because you’ll be much more prone to take this massage with you wherever you go. Think the gym, traveling, or even to work if it’s allowed. The discreet factor is a big selling point in our opinion.
And yes, it’s still plenty powerful AND quiet too. The 5 speed motor will make quick work of any muscle knot in no time at all.
The Medcursor Mini comes in a functional carrying case with 6 attachments.

Massage Gun Canada Buyer’s Guide Factors
Every single piece of equipment we recommend on Recovatech has been personally tested by us. That’s why we feel confident in our recommendations.
There are a number of specific criteria that we look for in a massage gun, those include:
Power and Performance
A massage gun at its core really only has one sole purpose, and that is to provide a remarkable massage experience. Therefore, it must be powerful enough to work out the kinks without being jarring our overbearing.
We look for massage guns that have smooth operating motors with a high stall force so that it won’t quit with applied pressure. We also prefer a massage gun that has variable speeds so that you can customize the massage experience to your liking.
Design and Ergonomics
We take a keen interest in how comfortable a massage gun is to use. With an average weight around 1kg, a poorly designed massage gun can quickly become a burden to hold. That’s why things like handle/grip size, weight distribution and overall dimensions are all contributing factors in our reviews.
For the most part, the majority of massage guns offer ample battery life to get your through an entire week of moderate use. However, we have seen exceptions and we think it’s important for you, the buyer, to be aware of any device that doesn’t meet the average standard.
To cut corners, some manufactures will less sub-optimal lithium ion batteries that will prematurely fail. Fortunately that’s not often the case. In fact, many opt to use batteries made by reputable suppliers like LG or Samsung.
Warranty and Company Trustworthiness
While it may not seem important initially, the warranty on your massage gun could be a major issue should it break.
We always recommend you buy a massage gun from a reputable company, one with a consider amount of reviews. We say it often, but a warranty is only as good as the company that honors it.
Don’t be left with a paper weight should your massage gun fail and be assured that the product you purchased will be covered. We do our very best to only recommend products from companies that love their customers and stand by what they’re selling.
